In other key elections, Sudan’s Hashim Ahmed Abouelgasim retained his position as Secretary General after securing 29 votes.

The presidency of ANOCA remained unchanged as Mustafa Berraf of Algeria was elected unopposed. Similarly, Nigeria’s Gumel Habu was unopposed for the treasurer position.

The first vice presidency went to Da Costa João of Sao Tome et Principe, who also ran unopposed.

Meanwhile, the second vice presidency was won by Fortes Filomena of Cape Verde, who secured a commanding 42 votes against Ramoqopo Matlohang of Lesotho, who obtained 11 votes.

Foloko’s election marks a significant milestone for Zambia’s representation in continental Olympic affairs. His leadership at ANOCA is expected to enhance collaboration among African National Olympic Committees and further drive sports development on the continent.
